Who am I?
Welcome
I have lived in Lewistown for 32 years with my husband, John. We raised our 3 boys here because we wanted to provide them with a safe, open, affordable lifestyle. I taught 3 years at Deerfield Colony School and then was hired to teach at Garfield School. I was at Garfield for 19 years. In total I have taught preschool through grade 8 in public and private schools for over 29 years. I have been retired from teaching for almost 10 years. In those 10 years, I was an office manager/treasurer at my church for 7 years. Since then I have volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club two days a week in their sewing room. I volunteer at the Council on Aging one day a week baking.
Twelve years ago, we set aside part of our land at 1st and Brassey for a community garden that was spearheaded by the pastor at Lewistown UMC. Folks rent a box and grow vegetables for themselves and others.
I am also on the Lewistown Public Library Board. I am a member of MFPE-retired, American Legion Auxiliary, Northern Plains Resource Council, and Central Montana Resource Council.
I am the daughter, sister, wife, and mother of veterans. I believe our veterans deserve special considerations for serving our country as our Montana Constitution declares.
While teaching in Lewistown, I was the Lewistown Education Association president for 10 years. I have served on the negotiating team to bargain for fair wages and good working conditions. I addressed issues with folks of opposing views and worked successfully to come to a consensus.
I believe I could serve the communities in HD 37 fairly and with common sense.
